Our April 02 installation and rollout of over 80 phones for the Bank of Clarke County, see what their CFO Jim McCarty had to say about his experience with Brainstorm. Customer Testimonial As one of the fastest growing financial institutions in the Shenandoah Valley, the Bank of Clarke County utilizes the latest technology to better serve its customers. With the recent expansion to 7 branches, the bank required a telephone system that would integrate with their current computer infrastructure and still provide room for future growth. Partnering with Brainstorm Software, an Authorized 3Com NBX Dealer in Virginia, the Bank of Clarke County chose 3Com’s IP-based telephone system from Brainstorm Software. As stated by Jim McCarty, Chief Financial Officer, “Our legacy PBX was maxed. We were at a point where we needed a whole new system that would continue to allow our customers personal service; yet, take advantage of our present and future computer equipment. Evaluating the costs of standard key systems compared to the NBX and weighing the integration benefits, the 3Com product was a clear choice.” McCarty said. “The NBX allows us to make moves, adds and changes on the fly with the browser interface. Plus, using TCP/IP, we can have one inbox for e-mail and voice mail. The system meets our number one priority of enabling our staff to be more accessible and better prepared for our customers.” One key to the smooth installation of any new system is the ability of the integrator to plan and implement the changeover. “Brainstorm Software worked with us over several weeks to map the many details before the install. ” McCarty remarked. ”Nothing is 100% perfect, but the installation far exceeded our expectations. Over one weekend, we were up and running.” The basis of the 3Com NBX (Network Branch Exchange) phone system is a core processor that is connected to the Ethernet cable. All the phone handsets are also connected to the category 5 infrastructure operating at 100 Mbps, although you can use older handsets as well as your PC to make calls. The Bank of Clarke County utilizes their existing wide-area data circuits to connect voice traffic at each branch to the headquarter site and for incoming and outgoing calls. With the advantages of an auto attendant, voice mail, hunt groups and 4 party conferencing, the NBX provided the best value. 3Com maintains the #1 market share position for systems shipped in the Telephony-Enabled LAN segment for the fourth quarter and calendar year 2001, beating competitors such as Cisco, Avaya and Mitel. The company shipped 5,614 systems during 2001, representing 55% of Telephony-Enabled LAN systems shipped in the U.S. market.
